Tubby Tax For Obese Ryanair Passengers

After proposing passengers should pay to use the toilet while flying, low cost giant Ryanair is now considering the introduction of a ‘fat tax’ on its flights after almost 30 per cent of users in a website competition voted in favour of a scheme to levy charges on overweight passengers.

The airline has said it is now considering ways of implementing the new scheme.

Under the new proposals overweight passengers could either be charged per kg over 130kg/20 stone (male) and 100kg/15 stone (females), per inch over 45 inch (male) and 40 inch (female), or asked to pay for an extra seat if passengers waists touches both armrests simultaneously.

Can you image the scenes at airports when the check-in staff ask chubby looking passengers to step aside to be weighed or measured? Sir please sit in the seat so we can see if your fat belly touches the sides. Priceless.

This story comes only months after obese air travellers in Canada won the right to two seats for the price of one.
