MSC Cruises put on a spectacular show last weekend for around 14,000 people who turned out to see the companies latest cruise liner’s official naming ceremony.

Hollywood legend Sophie Loren was the guest of honour at the launch party for MSC Magnifica which took place on the river Elbe in Hamburg, northern Germany.

The liner boasts 16 bars and lounges, four restaurants, a 4-D cinema as well as a mini-bowling alley and a spa.

The MSC Magnifica’s maiden voyage will take her passengers from Hamburg across the Mediterranean to Venice, the homeport of the ship.
