The US$ 1.2 billion project has a series of 13 man-made islands covering an area of 20 million square meters.

It comprises of six atolls (coral lagoon islands), five petal islands (fish-shaped), a crescent-shaped island, five-star hotels, a 18-hole golf course, 12 bridges, and a marina.

Located on the south coast of Bahrain, Durrat Al Bahrain is 54 kilometers from Bahrain’s International Airport and is accessible by a two-lane highway linking it from Manama, the trip takes around 35 minutes.

The new highway, the King Hamad Highway, will also link to the new Qatar Bahrain Friendship Bridge between Bahrain and Qatar.
Currently under construction, the new 45km causeway will permanently link Bahrain and Qatar and will be the world’s longest causeway. The causeway will comprise a number of bridges combined with roads constructed on dams and will be a natural extension of the King Fahd Causeway that connects Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, thus linking the entire region.
Upon completion, Durrat Al Bahrain is destined to become the region’s most prominent seaside resort city, putting Bahrain firmly on the upscale-tourism map.
