Picture Postcard From Namibia

The images of Namibia in this gallery are a far cry from anything I’d imagined of this African nation.

My first thoughts of Namibia would be war and poverty, yet these 12 photos without doubt make me reconsider my judgmental thoughts.

Of course, the beautiful landscapes and wildlife pictured doesn’t mean the country doesn’t have political and economic troubles.

Since gaining independence in 1990 Namibia is still undergoing many changes nearly twenty years on.

Still, that doesn’t detract from it’s natural beauty. Deserts occupy much of the country; their dunes take on shapes and colours according to the elements.

The country also boasts game-rich grasslands and a semi-arid Central Plateau, large tracts of which are given over to livestock farming.
