Xbox 360 Elite Price Cuts

Microsoft will drop the price of the Xbox 360 Elite by £30 to £199 from today, the company has announced.

Prices in the USA will also drop with $100 being knocked of the price of the Elite model, which will now cost $299.

The news comes just days after Sony cut the rival PlayStation 3 by £50 to £249, however, Microsoft spokesman David Dennis insisted the price cut was not a response to Sony’s move.

Other price changes include the entry-level Xbox model, the Arcade, rising to £159.99 from £129.99, although its US price remains the same at $199.

The Xbox Pro mid-range model will be discontinued altogether, priced at $249 (£154) until it sells out.
