PS3 Slim For Xmas 2009?
Over the weekend Amazon’s German website briefly displayed a slimline Playstation 3 console for sale fuelling rumours that Sony is set to release a thinner, cheaper version of it’s games console in time for Christmas 2009.
The page was quickly removed, however, you can still view the Google cache of the “PlayStation 3 Konsole Slim” here
The DigiTimes also reported that Sony has ordered enough parts to make one million consoles in the third quarter of this year, twice as many as in the last three months also adding to the speculation.
Although a more obvious answer to the increase in PS3 parts is they will sell more units over the Xmas period regardless of a new model release.
Now the gaming world is expecting an announcement from Sony on the PS3 slim at the GamesCom video games show in Cologne, Germany later this month.
Sony said it did not comment on rumour and speculation.
