One Third Of Internet Users Won’t Use Credit Cards Online

Almost a third of internet users are too frightened to hand over their credit details while shopping online, a report published today found.

The Office of Fair Trading said 30 per cent of internet users do not shop online because of a lack of trust and a fear of fraud.

It added that, although consumer confidence is gradually improving, online markets cannot reach their full potential because it is still too low.

The Interactive Media In Retail Group estimates that £43.8billion was spent on online retail in the UK in 2008.

Do you shop online with your credit card? If not, why would you be worried to use your card even on a reputable site such as one of the big supermarkets like Tesco?

It’s something I’ve never been worried to do and have used it on sites’ across the world.
