In Pictures: The World’s Fastest Train

On Saturday the world’s fastest high-speed train was launched in China that averages speeds over 350km/h / 217mp/h.
The rail service will link Wuhan in central China to Guangzhou in the south, covering a total distance of 663 miles. Journey times will be reduced from around 10 hours to just 2 hours and 45 minutes.
The following gallery shows the 600-member delegation taking the first trip at the weekend.
