Google to reshoot its entire Street View footage for Japan

Following an outcry in Japan, the internet search engine Google said it would reshoot all of the footage for its online photo map service, Street View, using less intrusive camera angles.
The move comes only days after the privacy watchdog in Greece banned Google from gathering detailed images for Street View until it provides more privacy safeguards.
The controversies are the latest to engulf Street View, which offers 360-degree views of streets around the world using photos taken by cruising Google vehicles.
Britain’s privacy watchdog has rejected calls to shut down the service after concerns over some of the images portrayed – like this one here.
Google says the technology is legal, useful and non-intrusive.
