UK Town Creates It’s Own Street View After Google Snub

Virtual Dorchester

Tourists can now take an online look at the streets and attractions of the Dorset town of Dorchester, thanks to the town’s own version of Google Street View – the first of its kind in the country.

Since Google Street View launched in the UK in March 2009, users have been unable to explore the market town in Dorset as images are not yet live.

Virtual Dorchester features complete 360-degree tours of streets, attractions, shops, museums and schools.

The project is made up of a series of individual photographs and was funded by a £200 contribution from each of the businesses featured in the service.
