Video: Freak Accident Kills Race Driver

Formula 2 driver Henry Surtees was killed yesterday (July 19) in a freak accident during a race at the Brands Hatch circuit in England.

The 18-year-old was hit on the head by a stray wheel and tyre from the car of Jack Clarke, who had spun and crashed into a wall.

Surtees was immediately knocked unconscious leaving his car to run off the track at the next corner.

A spokesperson for the hospital confirmed that Surtees had died from his injuries.
