Schumacher F1 Return Scrapped

Michael Schumacher announced last night on his website that he will NOT be returning to Formula 1 to drive for Ferrari in the wake of Felipe Massa’s accident that has ruled the Brazilian out for the remainder of the F1 season.

Seven-time world champion had to abandoned the comeback after failing to shrug off neck injuries suffered in a motorbike accident in February.

‘I am disappointed to the core. I am awfully sorry for the guys of Ferrari and for all the fans which crossed fingers for me.

‘I can only repeat that I tried everything that was within my power. All I can do now is to keep my fingers crossed for the whole team for the coming races.’

It remains to be seen who Ferrari will turn to now.
