Wise Gets £1.5m Newcastle Pay-off

Newcastle have given Dennis Wise a £1.5million pay-off to leave the club.

Owner Mike Ashley has paid the club’s executive director (football) a full year’s salary as part of the fresh start under Alan Shearer.

It means former Swindon and Leeds manager Wise has been paid £3m for just over 12 months work.

Newcastle now have seven games to save themselves in the Premier League
