UEFA Cup: Bremen and Shakhtar In Final

Werder Bremen and Shakhtar Donetsk will contest the UEFA Cup final in Istanbul after both came through hard-fought semi-final second legs.

In their all-German clash against Hamburg, Werder were left to thank two outstanding strikes for a 3-2 win which put them through on away goals.

Shakhtar are through to their first UEFA Cup final after an 88th-minute winner sealed a 3-2 aggregate triumph – 2-1 on the night – in the second leg of their all-Ukrainian semi-final with Dynamo Kiev.

The final will take place in Istanbul on May 20.
