UCL: Wins For Bayern And Porto

Bayern Munich 2-1 Fioerentina
Bayern Munich’s goal came against the run of play in the first half as it seemed to be Fiorentina making the better chances of the two teams. It was Mario Gomez who scored after Thomas Muller went down in the penalty box. However, the goal was disallowed and taken back for a penalty that was cooly dispatched by Arjen Robben.
In the 2nd half Fiorentina took advantage of the lack of height in the Bayern team to score from a corner through Per Kroldrup.
The controversy began when Massimo Gobbi was sent off for what should have been only a booking. Bayern took advantage and on the 89th minute, Miroslav Klose scored a could header from 6 yards and the goal stood, even though he was clearly offside.
With the talk of Ribery saying Bayern must improve in the Champions League if he is to remain at the club, it should be the other way around since Ribery seemed to be invisible in the game.
Porto 2-1 Arsenal
Arsenal handed Porto the advantage heading into the 2nd leg with their mistakes at the back. Silvestre Varela’s cross looked an easy one to deal with, but Lukasz Fabianski fumbled it in his own net. Sol Campbell gave Arsenal their away goal after some poor Porto defending.
It was the 52nd minute where the main talking point lies, when Porto were awarded and indirrect freekick after Campbell back pass to Lukasz Fabianski. Porto caught Arsenal dreaming and took it quickly while Arsenal were still arguing with the referee to steal the lead from Arsenal.
