Michael Ciani’s late header gave Bordeaux a 1-0 home win over Maccabi Haifa. The French champions dominated possession throughout and got a deserved goal in the 83rd minute.

CSKA Moscow 2 – Besiktas 1

CSKA Moscow cruised to a 2-1 victory at home to Besiktas. Juande Ramos’ men controlled the match for long periods and secured all three points thanks to fine goals from Alan Dzagoev and Milos Krasic
Man Utd 2 – Wolfsburg 1

Manchester United battled back from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg at Old Trafford. The German champions deservedly held United at the break and actually took the lead shortly after half-time through Edin Dzeko. Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick got the goals for Man Utd.

AC Milan 0 – FC Zurich 1

AC Milan slumped to a shock oss to FC Zurich in the San Siro to heap more pressure on under-fire coach Leonardo. Hannu Tihinen’s clever backheel goal in the tenth minute gave the underdogs a deserved victory over the Italian giants.
Real Madrid 3 – Marseille 0

Real Madrid overcame a sluggish first half before running out comfortable 3-0 winners over 10-man Marseille at the Santiago Bernabeu. Cristiano Ronaldo scoring twice and Kaka’s penalty gave Real Madrid a flattering scoreline.

Apoel Nicosia 0 – Chelsea 1

Chelsea made it two wins from two games with a 1-0 win at Apoel Nicosia. A well crafted goal from Nicolas Anelka after 18 minutes was the difference between the sides.
Porto 2 – Atletico Madrid 0

Porto put in an impressive second-half display to see off Atletico Madrid 2-0. A great goal from Colombian striker Falcao and a second from Portuguese defender Rolando sealed the win for the home side at Estadio de Dragao.
