Ligue 1 chiefs elected to postpone Sunday’s game between Marseille and Paris St Germain after Ludovic Giuly, Mamadou Sakho and Jeremy Clement were tested for swine flu after complaining of fever, coughing and sore throats so now the entire PSG squad and staff are quarantined.

This led to violence between the Marseille and PSG fans in the Marseille city centre.

Blackburn have also confirmed that members of their squad have swine flu. It is said to be the reason Chris Samba and David Dunn missed out on playing in the match against Chelsea.

However some Blackburn players who played have got the symptoms of swine flu. Despite this the midweek game against Peterbourgh is going ahead as planned.

Also this summer the Manchester city defender Micah Richards had the virus and players in the Swedish league were told not shake hands in case the virus spread among their league.
