SPL Preview: Helicopter Sunday II

The title will be decided today on the final day of the season in the Scottish premier League as Rangers travel to Dundee United and Celtic host Hearts in Glasgow.

The Old Firm rivals have traded the league top spot over the last few weeks after Celtic relinquished the eight-point lead they held at one stage.

Hoops striker Georgios Samaras claimed this week that Rangers do not deserve to win the title but it is Walter Smith’s side who will head into Sunday in pole position.

Rangers currently hold a two-point advantage at the summit and will take the crown they last claimed in 2005 if they pick up three points at Tannadice.

Celtic are relying on Dundee United to do them a favour and if Rangers do stumble they can take advantage by beating Hearts at home.

Third-placed Hearts are already assured of European football for next season but United need to claim at least a draw to clinch the crucial fourth spot.

Aberdeen are three points behind United and still have a chance to qualify for the Europa League as they entertain Hibernian at Pittodrie.

All games kick off at midday and are being shown live on Setanta Sports.
