Rangers Say Bye Bye Barry

Barry Ferguson was stripped of the Rangers captaincy and sent home from training on Friday along with goalkeeper Allan McGregor after being dropped from the Scotland team in midweek for a breach of discipline.
The pair took part in a boozing session whilst on duty with the Scotland national squad and were benched for the match against Iceland. During that game they were caught on camera making rude gestures and acting in a manner unbecoming of their roles.
“Barry Ferguson has been deposed as Rangers captain and sent home from training today along with goalkeeper Allan McGregor in lieu of their actions at Scotland’s World Cup qualifier with Iceland on Wednesday,” said a statement on the Rangers website.
The two players returned to Murray Park today for a meeting chief executive Martin Bain to learn they have suspended for a fortnight without pay.
Rumours are circulating that the pair will never play for Rangers again and will be sold off in the summer.
In addition the SFA has announced the pair will NEVER be selected to play for their country again.

An SFA spokesman said: “In light of the events of the past 48 hours and following further discussions between the national team manager and the chief executive, it has been decided that Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor will no longer be considered for international selection by Scotland.”
