Milan Give Beckham The Cold Shoulder

David Beckham’s desire to prolong his England career was cast into fresh doubt when he was apparently frozen out of AC Milan’s Serie A victory over Chievo at the weekend.

Beckham looked a forlorn and lonely figure as he made a hasty exit from Verona after being forced to watch from the bench as Milan won 1-0.

The former England captain did not appear even to be coach Carlo Ancelotti’s second choice on Milan’s right — questioning his ability to maintain match fitness and stay in England manager Fabio Capello’s plans for the World Cup qualifier in Kazakhstan on June 6.

Ancelotti claimed last night that Beckham was suffering from a shoulder injury and sent out veteran Clarence Seedorf instead of Beckham with the Dutchman scored the only goal.

There appeared to be nothing wrong with Beckham as he warmed up during the second half.
