Liverpool Target United Striker Tevez

Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez sparked transfer speculation yesterday when he talked about leaving the club at the end of the season when his loan deal expires.

This has brought about a story this morning suggesting title rivals Liverpool and set to make a move for the Argentinians services.

According to The Times, Liverpool are now waiting in the wings in an attempt to lure Tevez to Merseyside to partner Fernando Torres.

Ferguson is reluctant to pay the £22million price tag required to make the move permanent and has plenty of attacking options.
