UCL: Liverpool And Rangers Crash Out

eto o

It was a miserable night in match day five of the Champions League, and that’s me talking as an Inter fan. God only knows how the Rangers and Liverpool support must be feeling this morning.

Inter put on a lack luster performance in Barcelona and were sent back to Milan with their tales between their legs to dwell on a 2-0 defeat.

The ‘Special One’ picked the wrong team for a start. His tactics are usually spot on but last night they weren’t of his usual standard and the mastermind needs to take a look at himself.

A couple of weeks ago in Kiev the team ran themselves into the ground, chasing every ball and pulled off a fabulous win with 2 goals in the final four minutes of the game to seal the victory.

Last night the trainer must have forgotten the dressing room Red Bull. No chasing, no running, no enthusiasm. The entire team were stand-offish. Sure we all know Barca love to keep the ball and pass it about beautifully but watching them do that doesn’t get you three points. Yet that’s exactly what Mourinho had his men do.

Massimo Moratti must already be thinking who to hire next to take Inter to a higher level in Europe because Jose has shown his style isn’t working.

Liverpool’s 1-0 win away to Debrecen proved in vain as Fiorentina joined Lyon in the knockout stages after beating the French champions at home by the same scoreline.

Rangers are also out of the competition after Walter Smith’s side suffered another defeat on home turf at Ibrox after being beaten 2-0 by Stuttgart.
