Real Salt Lake Win MLS Cup

It was penalty heartache for David Beckham as his LA Galaxy side lost on penalties to Real Salt Lake in the MLS Cup final in Seattle.

Beckham limped to the penalty area to covert the first spot-kick but team-mates Landon Donovan, Jovan Kirovski and Edson Buddle all missed.

Galaxy’s loss in the winner-takes-all championship decider means Beckham has yet to win a title after three years – and £12million in wages – in America’s Major League Soccer.
