UCL: Inter Milan 0 Barcelona 0

Inter Milan 0 Barcelona 0

Just to make things a little more interesting for this match I had a few wild bets on, first goal scorer, final score etc. Sadly I overlooked a scoreless draw.

I thought there would have been at least three goals but you’d have been lucky to have seen three shots during the entire match. This was not an exciting game yet I was glued to it – hoping for an Inter miracle goal but it just wasn’t to be.

The three “M’s” of Inter were the letdown – Milito, Motta and Muntari. I wish Jose Mourinho would take a chance on the young gun Mario Balotelli from the off instead of waiting until 70 or 80 minutes to bring him on.

Barca were just their usual possessive selves, trying to walk the ball into the net but Walter ‘The Wall’ Samuel was having none of that on the Inter backline.

There’s no point in going through the play because this match for all it’s big build up was pretty much a big letdown.

That said, I think the return fixture will be a different style of game altogether with goals.goals. goals.

Liverpool 1-0 Debrecen

Liverpool make a lacklustre start to their Champions League campaign, as a Dirk Kuyt goal on the stroke of half-time secures a 1-0 win over Debrecen.

Dynamo Kiev 3-1 Rubin Kazan

Dynamo Kiev come from a goal down to beat Rubin Kazan 3-1 in their opener.

Sevilla 2-0 Unirea Urziceni

Luis Fabiano and Dirnel Renato are on target as Sevilla beat Unirea Urziceni 2-0.

Olympiakos 1-0 AZ Alkmaar

Olympiakos Piraeus secure a narrow 1-0 win over AZ Alkmaar in their Group H opener. Vassilis Torosidis’ 79th-minute goal proves enough.

Standard Liege 2-3 Arsenal

Eduardo scores a late winner as Arsenal stage a second-half comeback to win 3-2 at Standard Liege after going two down in the first half.

Stuttgart 1-1 Rangers

A superb second-half strike from defender Madjid Bougherra sees Rangers come away with a point in their 1-1 draw in Germany.

Lyon 1-0 Fiorentina

Miralem Pranjic fired Lyon to a 1-0 win over Fiorentina.
