Cristiano Ronaldo named European Player of the Year

Cristiano Ronaldo wins top award

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the European player of the Year and will pick up his award at a gala ceremony in Paris on Sunday.

23-year-old Ronaldo is the first Manchester United player in 40 years to win the Ballon d’Or following Denis Law in 1964, Bobby Charlton in ’66 and George Best in 1968.
