Ancelotti Expects Petr Cech To Return

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that goalkeeper Petr Cech could return to action sooner than expected after he sustained a calf injury in the 2-1 defeat at Inter Milan and not a serious knee problem.

Cech had to be substituted during the second half of the Champions League last-16 first leg tie in the San Siro on Wednesday evening when he collapsed after making a catch.

Initial reports suggested the custodian could be facing a lengthy absence with a knee injury, but Ancelotti has since confirmed it was Cech’s calf that forced him out of the action and his absence could be minimal.
