Adriano Signs For Flamengo

Brazil international striker Adriano has signed for Rio de Janeiro-based club Flamengo and will be officially unveiled today.

The 27-year-old has been without a club since his contract was terminated by Inter Milan in March after he deserted Inter following a World Cup qualifier in Brazil.

A member of Brazil’s World Cup team in 2006, Adriano said at the time he was taking a break from football because he was unhappy in Italy.

However, he has been persuaded to make a quick-fire return at the club where he began his career in 2000.
