The Fox-Cablevision Dispute Is Pretty Serious

It’s looking pretty grim for the folks in NY and Philly. No playoffs! I for one would be pretty pissed if I didn’t get my ALCS and NLCS fixes. In case any of you are wondering, there’s been a nice little war going between Fox and Cable Television over distribution and of course… money.
News Corp.’s Fox and Cablevision said Saturday they were returning to the negotiating table in an effort to end a programming deal impasse that could deprive some 3 million cable subscribers of baseball playoff and football games in the New York and Philadelphia areas.
Cablevision says it pays $70 million a year for access to 12 Fox channels, including those in dispute, and that News Corp. is now asking for more than $150 million a year for the same programming.
Uh, yeah, I would say that negotiating is a good start. I mean I didn’t know what I would do if I didn’t get in my fix of Glee! Seriously though, no more House? Sunday Football? It’s like World War III or something. I just hope this gets resolved quickly and I can go back to being a lazy ass.
Good god 150 million a year? Is Glee that good? Ugh, I keep coming back to Glee. Maybe I should watch it…or not.
