After scorching round the track in Barcelona at the weekend for the Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton headed for the Italian Rivera to enjoy life in the slow lane with his pop star girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.

The couple got away from it all on a sunshine break to picture perfect Portofino, which is a favourite of stars including Elton John, Rod Stewart and Jennifer Lopez.

Twenty-four-year-old Lewis and his Pussycat Dolls singer girlfriend took in the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside as they strolled around the town hand-in-hand.

And the pair seemed to have a memento of their romantic holiday in mind as they stopped off at a local market stall to pick up some trinkets and souvenirs.

Although a chasing pack of fans and photographers doesn’t make for a quiet romantic stroll.
