Susan Smartens Up

Susan Boyle, the woman who wowed judges with her amazing voice during The X Factor has been the focus of worldwide media attention over the past few weeks, with various trips around the country and even a jet set flight to America!

Lately she seems to have undergone a bit of a makeover, nothing too drastic but her style of clothes has definitely changed and she seems to be taking fashion advice from someone (the pink feather boa in recent pictures might have been a step to far though). What worries me is that with all this change we’ll end up losing what it was about her that made everyone love her. She’s an ordinary woman with no frills who just happens to have this amazing voice and that alone is what makes her so appealing to everyday women.

I have visions of her being whisked away to America, over glamorised by stick thin models and stylists and turning in to nothing more than one of the bog standard wannabe’s that the UK and US are saturated with.

My message to Susan would be, stay true to yourself and don’t change too much! The public saw you and fell in love with you for who you are, not what the media would have you become.
