The funeral of singer Michael Jackson was held at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California last night.

Mourners waited for over an hour as the performer’s family travelled in a motorcade of 31 vehicles from their home in neighbouring suburb Encino.

A sunset ceremony had been planned outside the Holly Terrace in the cemetery, but the family’s late arrival meant it was pitch black when the service finally commenced.

Tabloids are suggesting the funeral cost more than $1million dollars.
