US Troops Turn Palaces of Saddam Hussein Into Posh Barracks (36 photos)

This collection of images by photographer Richard Mosse show the imperial palaces of Saddam Hussein converted into temporary barracks and operating bases for the U.S military.

Set amongst the marble and chandeliers, pools and moats, you’ll see weight sets, American flags, basketball hoops and even posters of bikini clad chicks.

There’s also a few photographs of bomb damaged palaces that were badly destroyed during the invasion and remain untouched and uninhabitable.

I’ve no idea how many palaces Saddam Hussein had built or owned but I’m sure it was more than the three pictured here.
