Last December an American Airlines flight originating from Washington D.C. with a 154 people onboard landed in bad weather and heavy rain en route to Kingston, Jamaica.
More than 40 passengers were injured on Flight 331 when it overshot the runway.
The Boeing 737-800 had a cracked fuselage and its right engine broke off from the impact and the left main landing gear collapsed. The plane came within 15 feet of skidding into the roiled waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Here’s eight aerial pictures of the cracked fuselage of American Airlines Flight 331 that show just how close to the sea it came.
