Abandoned World War 2 Radar Station

Abandoned World War 2 Radar Station Gallery

RAF Stenigot radar station in Lincolnshire, England was originally setup as part of an early warning system against bombing raids by the Luftwaffe during WW2.

In 1959 it was upgraded to a communications relay site as part of the NATO ACE High program, which involved adding four tropospheric scatter dishes.

The site was decommissioned in the late 1980s and was mostly demolished by 1996, however, several dishes still remain as a bizarre monument to the cold war.
