I happen to live in Hong Kong and there really is no such law. It’s a metropolitan city, not unlike Manhattan, as bullsh1t says. We pretty much have UK laws, since it was a British colony up until ’97. Lawyers even wear those little wigs. Any form of murder is not allowed, regardless of whether or not a husband is adulterous. In fact, there have been women prosecuted for their husbands murder before, all of which have been in the papers.
Now, I happen to be half Indonesian and have lived there for quite some time. There is no law regarding masturbation. Jakarta is quite a forward city with a large expatriate community. I can assure you that many of the teenage boys I grew up with had a wank at least once a day, all whom are still alive. I did ask my uncle, who happens to be a lawyer in Indonesia, and he confirmed there was no such law. In fact, he laughed. Perhaps you were talking about Muslim repercussions? Which would be a different thing entirely. Most of your laws were probably either really old and have been abolished, or are just traditional customs that might still be practiced in certain traditional communities.

Jeez, you guys are all idiots. Just because a law exists doesn’t mean it’s enforced! In England the law clearly states that every adult male has to practise with a longbow for an hour a day, and it’s legal to shoot a Scotsman as long as you’re North of Manchester. These are just laws that nobody got round to abolishing. That Columbia law’s probably still around, it used to be the tradition in most of the world, and the law in some parts, that when a married couple first had sex there was an audience.
You seriously think anybody believes all of this still happens? These laws haven’t been removed but they’re never enforced, and many of them (like the Hong Kong law) have just been overriden by more recent, contradictory laws. And as for the bestiality law, for something to be legal just means there isn’t a law specifically AGAINST it, it doesn’t have to mean there’s a law specifically allowing it.
And no, I’m not a lawyer and I’m a year away from graduating but I have what’s known as ‘common sense’, which doesn’t require a diploma.

I agree with Annette, I live in scotland, it’s illegal here to drink in a field with a cow. Believe it or not, laws that are still in place are not necessarily enforced.
For example (Non offensive laws because I do not think the people on this site could handle even this):
In Minnesota it is illegal to cross state borders while walking backwards with a duck on your head.
In Kansas it is illegal to eat cherry pie with vanilla ice cream.
Some of the laws that make no sense are the laws that are not worth correcting, so are simply not enforced.

I’ve never been to many of the countries on the list, but I do know these are true: in Singapore, however, I’m not sure if any of these are “illegal” but you can be fined heavily for… spitting, chewing gum (the sale of gum is actually forbidden), not flushing the toilet after use, having pornography, taking a durian (it is a smelly, spikey friut) on the subway(or MRT-as its called there), littering, jaywalking,.. there’s ton’s more, probably too many to list, oh yeah and if you traffic drugs there -you’re dead, (do not pass go, don’t collect $200, automatic death penalty) literally the sentance is death.

If one finds things wrong, he may post criticism in the comment box, or even anywhere else on the internet about listing. 1st – Guam is a predominant Catholic society so obviously this is not gonna fly.
2nd-Prostitution is illegal in Guam.
3rd-Guam held a peaceful protest and a massive boycott against the Marie Claire magazine, which were burned in barbeque pits!

I am an older lady….a Grandmother in fact…..and have lived in the same country for all of my long life and I certainly DO NOT profess to know of all the archaic laws we have.
I have no doubt whatsoever that this whole list of laws is all completely true judging by some of the archaic laws that have been featured on many TV programmes over time.
Some laws here, for example, include pregnant women having the right to urinate anywhere they like, including in a policemans helmet and the one that says dancing is not allowed in the village halls on Sundays.
There is also some silly old law somewhere stating that all men must wear socks if they visit a beach after 6pm.
Posters who comment with abuse and profess to know of every archaic law ever passed in their country of residence only make themselves look naive and somewhat silly.
Can I just say,

the second law, about Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse is not true. if I’m not wrong, it is a traditional law. there is many kind of muslims, most of them sometimes mixed religion with their own tradition even when the tradition is actually aren’t allowed in islam. and the third law about Indonesia and masturbation… total BS, there is no such law. even those who got caught doing prostitution can get away with paying a sum of money or just some month in the jail in Indonesia. i wonder why ppl bother to make this kind of writing and some people seems to believe it… sad…
