Killing In The Name UK Christmas Number 1

Killing In The Name by Rage Against the Machine topped the UK singles chart ending Simon Cowell’s four year domination of the Christmas number one.
All power to the people behind the Facebook campaign for working hard to stop X Factor winner Joe McEdlerry’s ‘The Climb’ taking the top spot.
More than half a million people downloaded RATM’s anti-authoritarian and expletive laden track in what was seen as a broad protest against the Simon Cowell and the X Factor.
The track eventually outsold ‘The Climb’ by 50,000 units and has became the first ever download only UK Christmas number one.
Despite losing out on the single top spot, Cowell kept a hold on the album chart, with Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed A Dream remaining at number one for a fourth week.
