Michael Jackson O2 Gigs In Doubt?

In true fashion the Michael Jackson media circus is in full swing as his string of 50 dates at the O2 Arena in London this July fast approach.

This week has been full of Jacko skin cancer stories, cancelled gigs, production problems, to name just a few stories that have hit the headlines on any media outlet looking for a story.

From past experience we all now know how it works and to be honest it gets a little boring. One outrageous story and claim after another – 99% of which are the stuff of fairytales.

However, one did catch my eye and my gut tells me this one has some truth to it.

A source close to the Jackson camp reckons that Jacko has appeared at only TWO of the 45 rehearsals that have already taken place with the singer allegedly suffering back trouble and painkiller addiction.

Having seen several Jackson concerts on DVD there’s no way that the type of show he puts on can be thrown together quickly and must take a lot of time, planning and practice for it all to run smoothly.

If he isn’t rehearsing, what kind of disaster are his fans going to witness? – Remember some have paid thousands for tickets on eBay desperate to see their idol perform.

The BIG question is – how many gigs will Jackson perform, if any? And if he does make it to the stage, can he last a full action packed two hour bonanza that he’s promised?

I’m waiting on the spectacular ‘excuse’ that something dreadful has happened and the whole O2 party has been called off with the ‘promise’ that he’ll be back next year.

Back in March I guessed he’d do no more than five gigs in total, I’m not even sure he’ll manage three now.
