Caught Live: Britney Spears O2 Arena London
Britney Spears kicked off the British leg of her Circus tour at The 02 arena in London last night – the first of eight dates in 11 days.
She was introduced via a video link by Perez Hilton she made a stunning entrance as she descended from the rafters in a circus hoop.
Dressed as a red ringmaster’s jacket in a sequinned hat, fishnet tights and knee high boots, she opened the show with a remixed version of Circus.
The concert was an unparalleled visual spectacle, full of magic tricks, gymnastics and costume changes (nine in all, including policewoman and burlesque dancer).
On stage were dozens of clowns, dancers, unicycles, acrobats, podiums, giant picture frames, period furniture and, at the centre of it all, the mistress of ceremonies herself.
It’s hard to be 100% sure, of course, but it wouldn’t come as a complete surprise to learn that much of the 19-song set was lip-synced.
By all accounts the 18,000 strong audience didn’t seem to mind as they danced, cheered, screamed and sang from start to finish.
