A Sticky Start To Madonna’s Tour
On Saturday Madonna kicked off her Sticky and Sweet tour at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium in Wales, opening with “Candy Shop.”
So after the opening show is the 50 year old still the Queen of Pop?
Well that’s debatable after mixed reviews of the concert in yesterday’s media. At one point before she hit the stage large numbers of the 40,000-strong audience were booing her!!!
In the Sunday Telegraph, Isabel Albiston wrote: “There were times when Madonna seemed strained and she lacked the effortless confidence of previous years”
“In the opening half of the show, she struggled to involve the crowd, who responded half-heartedly to her newer tracks.
“Her voice was stronger when she wasn’t attempting to keep up with her dance troupe.”
With another 49 dates on the calendar let’s hope she improves as the tour progresses or her reign as Queen may come to an end quicker than she’d like.
