At The Movies: Youth In Revolt

Plot: Juno’s Michael Cera stars in this indie comedy about a misfit teen who meets the girl of his dreams. But when Nick’s summer romance with Sheeni (Doubleday) is over, he’s determined to be reunited with her, whatever the cost.

When Nick realizes she is not interested any more, he comes up with an alter-ego, named François Dillinger, who resembles Nick, but has blue eyes, a mustache, a deeper voice, and a player/bad boy attitude to help him with his pursuit of Sheeni. But when François makes Nick a wanted criminal, everything spins out of control.

Verdict: The tone feels torn between teen movie and grown-up indie but fans of Michael Cera will love this black comedy.
