At The Movies: The Uninvited

Plot: The Uninvited will go down best with anyone too young to remember The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.

For older viewers, it mostly resembles a rip-off of that movie, as a teenager with extremely scary dreams (Browning) discovers that the pretty blonde (Banks) about to marry the teen’s rich novelist father (Strathairn) is a psychopathic serial killer.

This is one of those movies that could easily be spoiled by incautious revelations.

Verdict: You’ll enjoy the twist, which isn’t original but is entertainingly outrageous.

Date Movie: Yeah, I’d say this is a date movie.
