At The Movies: Slumdog Millionaire

Jamal with childhood friend Latika
Starring: Dev Patel, Freida Pinto, Anil Kapoor
Director: Danny Boyle
Slumdog Millionaire Plot: Jamal (Patel), is a young teen from the slums who has made it onto the Indian Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? He does so well that he is suspected of cheating – which he isn’t. He claims to know all the answers through his many experiences he has encountered in his young yet saddening life.
Verdict: I heard this as a talking book on the radio and was instantly engrossed in it and if the movie is anything like the radio production then it’s worth a midweek trip to the flicks.
