At The Movies: Fifty Dead Men Walking

Starring: Jim Sturgess, Ben Kingsley, Natalie Press, Kevin Zegers, Rose McGowan
Director: Kari Skoglandn
Plot: Based on Martin McGartland’s shocking real life story and inspired by the book of the same name we follow Martin (Sturgess) in 80s Belfast as he works his way up the ranks as a volunteer for the IRA whilst feeding information to his British handler and saving lives in the process, until one day he is exposed.
He is captured and tortured to within an inch of his life. He escaped dramatically by throwing himself from a tower block window and is still in hiding today
Verdict: Great story and will suck you in very quickly because you know it’s not going to have a happy ending – it’s just a matter of when. Worth watching but a far better read.
Date Movie: Mmm, that depends on how long you’ve been dating – definitely not a first date movie.
