Plot: A deadly virus is sweeping America, and four young friends are trying to drive to safety. When they come across a desperate father Frank (Meloni) and his infected young daughter, the group is split about what to do.

A gripping, scarily believable post-apocalyptic thriller, this offers up plenty of moral dilemmas about friendship and survival.

Star Trek’s Chris Pine is excellent and often funny as cocky Brian, while Lou Taylor Pucci is great as his sensitive brother Danny.

The message is very bleak – everybody is ultimately selfish – and the ending is very downbeat.

Verdict: A good solid thriller with a great turn from Chris Pine

Date Movie: If you’ve seen everything else on at the multiplex and you’d rather snuggle and smooch than catch the movie.
