The Republic of Molossia is the smallest sovereign republic in the world and has been governed by President Kevin Baugh for over 30 years.

This progressive micronation in Dayton, Nevada has a population of six: Kevin, his two sons and three dogs. (Although I’m certain I read their is a First Lady)

This half-hectare of land may look like just another home in the US desert, but it is in fact the country of Molossia – the world’s smallest sovereign republic.

Upon arrival you need to have your passport approved and stamped to gain entry. It even has it’s own postal service and poker chip currency.

Mr Baugh and his pal James Spielman came up with the idea of their very own micronation after watching the Peter Sellers film The Mouse that Roared, when they were teenagers.

It even has it’s own official website.
