Police Brutality In India (5 Photos)

indian police brutality

A report published this week by Human Rights Watch documented police abuses in India that included arbitrary arrests, torture and cold blooded killings.

India allocates only 1 officer per 1,037 citizens, compared with an average of 1 per 333 worldwide, putting the officers under crippling pressure from their superiors to solve crimes.

The images shown here were captured by an eyewitness to a cold blooded murder carried out in broad daylight by police officers on the streets of India.

The official version is of the incident states the young man was a member of a separatist terror group who had resisted arrest and was shot.

Other accounts of the shooting say the officers crowded around him to hide from the eyes of passers-by and killed with terrifying composure. They then carried the body to a nearby police car.

From what the photos reveal there seems more truth to the eyewitness version of events.

  4. sultan Says:

What!???? are you for real you jackass….

  5. djmick Says:

    Sultan that was inspiring.

  6. Keti Says:

The pictures are seemed to be taken from the North-East province of Manipur of India, where such incidences occurred sporadically during the last half decade. The police dresses are surely of Indian colour -’Khaki clothes’. Separatist activities prevailed in the province, as far as the news flashes. The writings in the hoarding/signboards are also Manipuri-like.

  7. djmick Says:

Keti, thanks for sharing your insight. :-)

  8. MA Says:

This is not Inidian photos i think the author shoukd think and post these type of pictures the author if fully wrong. These people in the pics doesn’t seem to be Inidian. who ever posted it must be illiterate

  9. Guruji Says:

  10. laksh Says:

Verify ur facts before publishing photographs. The irony is that you have still kept it on web. This is not india’s photo.. the uniform of cops, type of peoples’ face is definatly not indian. This looks like malasian or indonasians… change the title u idot.

  12. Alok Says:

Where the f**k have u find that place in India or have gone to some other country get this image???

  13. RG Says:

It happened in Manipur, a state in the north east India. I am from there and I know for a fact that it really happened. It was a very very sad incident though.

  14. Gaurav Says:

I do not know whether this incident took place in India or not but I have strong doubts on the description given by the so-called eye-witness. I believe that his/her story is self-created as there is no mention of anyone else getting hurt in the whole episode, however, in the last picture, you can see the feet of another person who seems to be dead. Hence, even if I do not question the credibility of the news, we can still see that some facts have been skipped (intentionally, may be?).

Who knows the guy (victim) might really have tried to flee with the help of the other person (whose feet are visible in the last pic) & both were shot dead in the attempt & the “eye-witness” chose not to mention it.

  15. KHURRAM SHAHZAD Says:

  20. vikas Says:

This is what is called when the uneducated write articles….what a misuse of interned. Author is either a copy [paste guy who has stolen this pic from some web page and put in his/her comments wihout application of any mind…well the article and intrepretation is sufficient to adduce how wise is the auhor.

If the author has any shame let him tender an appology and withdraw the article. Blood ass head.

  21. djmick Says:

when the uneducated write articles – very assuming vikas and like many of your ilk, you assume wrongly in almost every aspect of your comment.

  22. Roxanne Says:

This is India! North East Indians from Assam and Manipur look like this.

I am an Indian and its sad whatever has happened.

Don’t hate the author for publishing this. Corruption occurs everywhere.

  23. polendra Says:

better sharpen up your geography, otherwise India is another USSR in waiting. To break up individually. B**ls to unity in diversity concept when Indian are so ignorant about each other.

  24. Kaka Says:

Are you indians all that stupid or in that much of a denial that you think this is false information. Rather than living in la-la land get a rip on reality and know whats happening in your country.

Your government has a stranglehold on the media and you the gullible citizens of India soak up everything they say.

  25. DrRiq Says:

Whew!!!!!!!!!!! what ignirance at display…………people who are attributing this photograph to china malaysia or thailand think that only north indians living in the BEMARU states of India are indians……..Dont U know these are people who call idiots call ‘Chinkis’……..This incident is from north east where where the security forces under guise of the Armed forces special act killed this youth in cold blood and showed it too be an encounter for medals and promotions……This is a common story in all regions of India where the armed forces special act is in place……

  26. abk Says:

Strange… Very strange.. This doesen’t look like Indian Police uniform,
But if you take look at some details like PCO and she shops it looks like it is in India.
You cannot shout that Indian system is corrupt, Unless you know the whole story. Indians are definately not mindless to do a fake encounter in a Broad daylight. This Only happen in Pakistan and their media didn’t have balls to publish.
This is just a propaganda to create bad image of INDIA in front of the world.. Keep it doing as nothing else can be done from you.!.. India is Zooming far ahead of you Fu@#$rs.

  27. AN INDIAN Says:

these pics r indeed 4m india….plus nt to forget the fact that india is a country of different races.so it should b noted that it also comprises of people of mongoloid origin…not only negrito, proto or dravidian.these pics were taken in north eastern region of india.that would b Manipur,an indian state……i am myself an indian…..nd the indian people, those who r commenting here…dnt even knw what condition the northeastern people r living in….so let m tell u once again these PICS r frm INDIA…nd there is no question of chinese propaganda..as the chinese r interested in Arunachal Pradesh nt manipur or some other norhteastern state…..

  28. Kevin Arnold Says:

No doubt some people in India feel there’s injustice being done against their community, “Blame it on India” is the new motto for these guys. That guy in the picture might be, who knows, planning a big mischief against his own people..people like this deserve to die, they don’t deserve a second chance. The Indian police is not so dumb to kill an innocent man on the streets…This is not Burma or North Korea.

  29. djmick Says:

Why are so many Indians in denial?

As for saying I have an agenda… take a look around the rest of this site and it will become clear I just share what I’m sent or see.

  30. Vanlaldt Says:

I think it’s Manipur, India. Could be the Manipur Rifles. They are notorious , simply notorious I am told.

  31. dd Says:

“India allocates only 1 officer per 1,037 citizens, compared with an average of 1 per 333 worldwide, putting the officers under crippling pressure from their superiors to solve crimes.”

Lots of police is indicative of a police state. The lesser police we have the better it is. As for the photos, what if its really done in India? Do you think they should have caught him like kasab and spend 20 crores in keeping him in custody and a long trial? Better to kill in encounters than to have flunky lawyers bail him out the next day. We Indians believe in karma. If you do good you will get good, if you do bad you will get bad. Good people have nothing to fear from the police or anyone else.

As for people who advocate lots of police, take a look at the USA, it has lots of efficient police and the result? Too many people behind bars and billions of dollars required to be spent on jails every MONTH.

  32. dd Says:

“putting the officers under crippling pressure from their superiors to solve crimes”

You could also argue the reverse. Hiring more police will put pressure on more people to prove their police toughness and make them cook up obscure crimes just in order to make up their tally book. Thus resulting in many more people arrested simply because there are too many police looking around to police something.

  33. Shan Says:

This is Thailand and not India. I can see Thai language a small blue board(second from bottom)

  34. ningthoukhongjam Says:

I WAS VERY MUCH ASHAMED TO SAY THAT I AM AN INDIAN BECAUSE OUR COUNTRY IS A LAND OF DIFFERENT CULTURE,RELIGION,CASTE,CREED AND MOREOVER MY OWN BROTHER AND SISTER WHO WERE NOT FROM NORTH-EAST DOESN’T HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT HIS OWN COUNTRY VERY WELL.THEY NOT EVEN KNOW THAT HOW MANY STATES AND UNION TERRITORIES ARE THERE IN OUR COUNTRY(INDIA). I BELIEVE THIS ARE THOSE BROTHER AND SISTER WHO DOESN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEIR OWN HOMELAND AND THERE IS NOTHING MORE TO SAY TO ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE WHO WERE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. SO IF YOU WANT TO WRITE SOME COMMENT THEN STUDY ABOUT THAT THOROUGHLY THEN ONLY PLEASE WRITE YOUR COMMENT.REMEMBER LITTLE KNOWLEDGE IS DANGEROUS AND THEY WILL PAY YOU MORE.THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU DO SOMETHING. SO THOSE WHO EVER THINK THAT THIS IS NOT HAPPENING IN INDIA I THINK THEY WERE NOT A BHARAT NAGRIC.

  35. raj kanna Says:
