Philippines Shanty Town Fire (12 Photos)

A small fishing community in the Philippines has been left devastated after a fire swept through timber framed houses leaving hundreds of families homeless.
The disaster happened in the coastal township of Navotas, north of Manila, with reports of one death and several casualties. The fire was apparently caused by gasoline being poured into a container near a lit stove.
The houses were built on stilts and constructed from timber and corrugated iron sheeting. Residents sift through the charred remains to see what can be salvaged.
