Today, I’m Ashamed To Be Scottish

It has just been announced that convicted Lockerbie killer Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi is to be released on compassionate grounds and allowed to return home to Libya TODAY having served only 14 days for each one of the 270 lives he took.
This decision is disturbing and as a Scotsman embarrassing.
Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill took an astonishing 25 minutes of self justification before making the announcement that the dying killer would be set free.
“Hanus crime”, “cruelly murdered” and “worst terrorist atrocity” are three terms he used to describe the Lockerbie bombing in his Minister of the Church style press conference.
Talk about hypocritical.
Today people, I’m ashamed to be Scottish.
Since his arrest on April 5, 1999 Al-Megrahi’s been in jail 3791 days or 10 years, 4 months, 16 days – or 14 days behind bars far each one of his victims.
Since his conviction on January 31, 2001 he has served 3124 days or 8 years, 6 months, 21 days or 11.5 days served for each life he took.
Does that make you sick to the pit of your stomach? It does me.
