Flash Floods Hit Melbourne (8 Pics)

The first big storm of the year hit Melbourne yesterday causing flash floods which led to commuter and traffic chaos.
Aussie weather forecaster Phil King said 45mm of rain fell in just half an hour on Thursday in Melbourne’s west, with 34mm in the city centre.
Here’s a few photos from the streets of the city plus a video of some kids going for a swim in the flooded streets.

Brilliant pictures! I was about to write about the flood in Melbourne as well. Apparently all the big rivers have broken their banks.
The Yarra and Maribyrnong rivers are still rising while we have a sunny clear morning.
Very strange having to find a road that is not flooded just to go from Wheelers Hill to Parkville.
