In Pictures: Cleaning Up The Dalian Oil Spill

An extra 500 fishing boats joined a massive oil spill clean-up operation off the coast of northeastern China’s Dalian City, three days after pipelines exploded near the city’s oil reserve base, one of China’s largest.
The slick has stretched over at least 183 square kilometers of ocean near blast-hit Xingang port, with 50 square kilometers severely affected.
The clean-up has involved 266 oil-skimming vessels and 8,150 fishing boats plus thousands of workers as you’ll see in the 36 pictures below.
